Rev. Hampton Chomba

I completed secondary education in 1978 and enlisted in the Zambia Air Force in 1980, gaining a diploma in Electro-Mechanics. After retiring from the air force in 1998 I was called into ministry and studied at the International Bible Institute in Lusaka from 2001 to 2002 and obtained a diploma in Theology. In 2007, whilst in ministry, I saw the sufferings of orphans and vulnerable children in our community whose number was increasing due to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. These children could not afford to go to school in Zambia due to limited places in government schools and the high cost of education in private schools, hence they tended to roam the streets.

I was motivated to organize some untrained volunteer teachers and as Head Teacher we established a community school to help children receive education. The challenges faced in most of the community schools in Zambia are the lack of trained teachers and educational materials. Thanks to the TTCSZ team we have part of the solution. Being one of the first 25 trainees of TTCSZ from 2017, and becoming a Trainer Assistant in 2018, I am proud to say the sky is limitless.
